Netflix announced Monday it will begin streaming live NASA programming this summer, marking the platform’s continued expansion into live content.
The streaming giant will offer rocket launches, spacewalks, mission coverage, and live Earth views from the International Space Station. The content comes from NASA+, the space agency’s ad-free streaming service that launched in November 2023.
“We’re committed to a Golden Age of Innovation and Exploration — inspiring new generations — right from the comfort of their couch or in the palm of their hand from their phone,” said Rebecca Sirmons, NASA+ general manager.
Netflix’s live programming slate has grown significantly over the past year. The platform recently streamed a boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, began weekly broadcasts of WWE Raw, and covered the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Everybody’s in Live with John Mulaney represents another weekly live offering for the platform.
Upcoming live events include Taylor vs. Serrano 3 on July 11 and two NFL games scheduled for Christmas Day 2025.
The NASA+ programming remains available through the space agency’s dedicated app on iOS and Android devices. The service also streams on Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, and web browsers at no cost.

While other streaming services have introduced 24-hour live channels, Netflix has maintained its focus on scheduled live events and its extensive original programming library. The platform continues operating as the largest streaming service globally without committing to continuous live channel programming.
