Netflix announced this week it will add a collection of Alfred Hitchcock’s most iconic films to its streaming library beginning June 1, honoring the legendary director’s legacy with a comprehensive collection of his most influential works.
The streaming giant will feature Hitchcock classics including Vertigo, Rear Window, Frenzy, The Man Who Knew Too Much, Family Plot, and The Birds. These titles will join Psycho, which is currently available on the platform.
The collection extends beyond Hitchcock’s directorial work to include films inspired by his distinctive style, such as Us and Barbarian, alongside Sacha Gervasi’s 2012 biographical drama Hitchcock.
Beyond the digital offerings, Netflix has partnered with the New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC) to present “HITCH! The Original Cinema Influencer,” an extensive screening series running May 16 through June 29 at the Paris Theater in New York City — a historic venue the streaming service acquired in 2019.
“The six-week screening series features over 50 films,” according to Netflix. “36 directed by the master of suspense himself, along with more than a dozen others that either trace the stylistic influences behind Hitchcock’s filmmaking, are works made in collaboration with him, in his style, or as direct homages to his legacy.”
Film enthusiasts planning to visit New York this summer can purchase tickets for the screening series through the Paris Theater website.
