Netflix has added another Harlan Coben thriller to its growing collection with Just One Look, the latest adaptation from the bestselling author’s catalog now climbing the platform’s Top 10 chart.
The Polish-language series, which currently ranks as the #9 show in the US, continues Coben’s successful partnership with the streaming giant that previously produced hits like The Stranger, Stay Close, and Safe.
“The idea that something from your past haunts you, something comes back — gets buried, and comes after you, I think we all understand those feelings,” Coben explained in a recent interview about the series’ premise.
The author revealed the concept originated when he discovered an unfamiliar photograph while browsing through old pictures.
Just One Look stars Maria Dębska as Greta Remiewska, a jewelry designer whose life unravels after discovering a mysterious photograph of her husband. Cezary Łukaszewicz portrays Jacek Ławniczak, Greta’s husband who inexplicably disappears after being confronted about the image.
The cast includes Piotr Stramowski as rock star Jimmy D, Monika Krzywkowska as Jacek’s sister and attorney Sandra Kowalska, and Andrzej Zieliński as gangster Karol Wespa.
According to the official synopsis, the narrative centers on Greta’s discovery of an old photograph featuring her husband alongside several strangers, including a woman whose face has been crossed out. When Jacek vanishes shortly after denying knowledge of the picture, Greta’s investigation forces her to confront a traumatic incident from her past — an arson attack at a concert that left her physically and emotionally scarred.
[Spoiler Alert] As the series progresses, the connection between the mysterious photograph and Greta’s past trauma becomes increasingly apparent, revealing layers of deception that challenge everything she believed about her marriage.
The adaptation marks the tenth Coben project to appear on Netflix, continuing the author’s multi-project deal with the platform. His adaptations have become synonymous with intricate plotting, unexpected twists, and binge-worthy pacing.
Fans of Coben’s work can access his complete Netflix collection through the platform’s dedicated author page, which now features ten titles including Just One Look.
The streaming service has already announced two additional Coben adaptations in development — Run Away and I Will Find You — though premiere dates have not yet been confirmed.
