2 Netflix Originals Return With New Seasons This Week

Netflix announced Thursday the final episodes of its hit psychological thriller You will premiere this week, marking the conclusion of Joe Goldberg’s story with its fifth season. The streaming giant continues its aggressive content rollout strategy with multiple returning series hitting the platform.

The platform’s packed slate includes both the finale of one of its most successful acquisitions and the continuation of a popular animated franchise, maintaining Netflix’s position as the streaming service with the highest volume of original content releases.

You‘s fifth and final season debuts April 24, bringing Penn Badgley’s character back to where it all began — New York City.

“Joe doesn’t feel great about anything, really. He’s trying to stomach being one of the 0.01%, a billionaire,” Badgley told Netflix’s blog Tudum. “He’s fooling himself, but he’s doing a pretty good job, as he always does.”

The final season finds Joe now married to billionaire CEO Kate Lockwood (Charlotte Ritchie), with the series poised to resolve the fates of characters introduced throughout its run. The psychological thriller has remained one of Netflix’s most consistent performers since the platform acquired the series after its first season.

For viewers seeking family-friendly content, Pokémon Horizons: Season 2—The Search for Laqua Part 2 arrives April 25.

The animated series continues following protagonists Liko, Roy, and Dot as they journey across the Paldea region. New episodes will feature additional Pokémon species, fresh challenges, and Tera Training usage tests for the main characters.

Both releases highlight Netflix‘s strategy of maintaining viewer engagement through a consistent pipeline of returning series alongside new originals.
