International Content Dominates Mid-Week Releases
Sara – Woman in the Shadows premieres June 3, continuing Netflix’s Italian programming expansion. The drama stars Teresa Saponangelo as an ex-secret agent investigating crimes connected to her son’s death. The series has already established a significant audience on the platform.
Brazilian crime drama Criminal Code returns for its second season June 4. The series follows Isaac (Alex Nader) and the Phantom Gang as they become Federal Police targets after freeing the Ambassador (Nico García Hume). Season one reached number one in Netflix’s Top 10 Non-English Shows.
Colombian series Eva Lasting debuts its third season the same day. The coming-of-age romantic drama explores six teenagers’ lives in 1970s Bogotá.
Power Moves with Shaquille O’Neal also launches June 4. The six-episode docuseries documents NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson collaborating with Reebok to develop basketball footwear while recruiting emerging talent.
June 5 brings three returning series across different markets. Swedish heist drama Barracuda Queens returns for its sophomore season, following affluent teenagers who turn to burglary after financial setbacks. The series draws inspiration from true events.
Ginny & Georgia season three premieres the same day. Creator Sarah Lampert described the upcoming season as “our most ambitious and explosive season yet.” The season opens with Georgia wearing an ankle monitor following murder charges while her children’s lives deteriorate.
Comedy series Tires returns for its second season June 5. Shane Gillis stars in the series, marking his continued success following his brief Saturday Night Live tenure.
The week concludes June 6 with two new series. Korean drama Mercy For None adapts the webtoon Plaza Wars, centering on a former gangster pursuing vengeance for his brother’s death.
Australian limited series The Survivors also premieres June 6. Based on Jane Harper’s 2020 novel, the thriller examines mysterious deaths in the coastal town of Evelyn Bay.
